Public meeting on local healthcare
Helen will be holding a public meeting in Bishop Auckland Town Hall on Wednesday 17 September at 18:00 to discuss the County Durham and Darlington Hospitals Trust’s proposals to restructure local healthcare.
The Trust will present their proposals to the PCT Board on 2nd September at 13:00 at the Ramside Hall Hotel, and Helen is keen to how local people feel about these proposals.
Helen has already expressed her concern that the Trust are reportedly considering replacing the A&E Department with a minor injuries unit, which could mean that patients will have to travel to Darlington Memorial or University Hospital, Durham, to receive emergency treatment.
The meeting is open to all members of the public, and will provide a platform for local residents to feed their opinions into NHS management.
