New Berco factory opens in Spennymoor

IMG_9103.JPGHelen attended the opening of the new 150 sq ft Berco factory at Green Lane, Spennymoor, which promises to create a number of new manufacturing jobs.

Berco, an Italian-based company who manufacture undercarriage components and systems for tracked vehicles, arrived in Britain in 2005 and have now relocated to Spennymoor in order to capitalise on the town’s skilled workforce and its proximity to the A1 and Teesport

Helen said:

IMG_9060.JPG“This is really good news, and what it shows is that Spennymoor has got all the attributes which attract high quality inward investment.

Berco are a very good company with a high level of engineering expertise, and the fact that they want to come here is a real tribute to Spennymoor and to the local people and their skills.

Spennymoor has a proud history of manufacturing and engineering, and if we can maintain, build and modernise that tradition then we can retain competitiveness, retain jobs, and the local economy can continue to grow as it has in the last 10 years”.

IMG_9092.JPGOne production line is active already at the Green Lane factory, and the second will be up and running by September as Berco continue to expand their presence in the North East.
