Helen Goodman MP Working Hard for all in Bishop Auckland Following the welcome news that the Remploy factory in Spennymoor is to stay open, Helen is Chairing a ‘Champions Housing Group’ to identify procurement opportunities for the Spennymoor plant. Helen said:

“The future of Remploy Spennymoor rests on the site achieving extremely ambitious sales targets, and this demands a concerted effort from all local authorities, government offices and public sector housing groups”.

Helen was delighted to be at the Appleton Lodge extra care home to see the unveiling of eye catching art-work celebrating Spennymoor’s history. Helen said: “These are excellent local house facilities for elderly people with severe memory loss. As people are living longer, care needs are changing, and Appleton Londge house is a great example of best practice”.
