Helen launches Commercialisation of Childhood Charter

At the Compass National Conference on Saturday, Helen launched a Charter calling for the protection of children from advertising and for increased opportunities for children to participate in outdoor play.

You can read Helen’s speech to the Compass conference here.

The Commercialisation of Childhood Charter is the product of a long-running campaign in association with a variety of voluntary organisations ranging from Play England to The Mother’s Union.

On behalf of this working group, Helen has written to Gordon Brown to urge him to make the Charter a priority for his forthcoming government.

You can read the charter here and if you would like to express your support for this initiative you can sign up to the Charter by visiting www.compassonline.org.uk/campaigns/ or by e-mailing zoe@compassonline.org.uk
