Flexible Families
Helen is backing a new campaign by the Mothers Union (MU) which calls for an extension in the right to request flexible working to all parents of children under 18.
Parents of children under the age of 6 already have this right, but if the MU’s campaign is successful, parents will be entitled to request schemes such as part-time work, flexible working hours and home working schemes from their employers right up to their child’s 18th birthday. Helen will be launching the campaign at a special event in Parliament on Wednesday 1 November with supporters from the Church, Parliament and the trade union movement.
