Helen was delighted to join staff at Bishop Auckland College to celebrate National College’s Week.
Bishop Auckland College, which has recently opened a new £17.3 million campus at Woodhouse Lane, also signed up for the Government’s Skills Pledge - a voluntary commitment by employers to enable their staff to develop new skills, training and qualifications.
Helen said:
“Skills training and life-long learning are absolutely vital to ensure local people have the opportunity to find fulfilling long-term employment, and I am therefore delighted that Bishop Auckland College is supporting the Skills Pledge.
I recently conducted a survey of local residents that showed strong support for increasing opportunities for apprenticeships and worked-based learning, and Bishop Auckland College will be vital to achieving this”.
National College’s Week runs from 10-14 November, and a range of events will take place at college’s across the Bishop Auckland constituency. For more information contact 01388 762220 or visit http://www.bishopaucklandcollege.ac.uk
