Bowes Museum wins £3.3 million Lottery Funding
Local MP Helen Goodman has welcomed the news that The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle has been awarded a £3.3 million funding grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Helen said:
“This is absolutely marvellous news and is thoroughly deserved.
The Bowes has England’s finest collection of European paintings north of the river Trent, and the planned improvements look really impressive.
This new funding will provide a further reason for people to visit beautiful Teesdale at this time of year”.
Helen will be visiting the Bowes Museum along with Government Minister for the North East, Nick Brown, on Friday 4 April at 16:30.
