Helen has welcomed an announcement by the Home Secretary that a new police force will be created in the North East through the merger of the constabularies in Cleveland, Durham and Northumbria.
She said, “I backed this policy last week in the Commons as it will mean better policing in Bishop Auckland constituency.

Grandparents Joan and Ernest Hodgson gave a warm welcome to Helen today when she visited them in their home.
Helen was giving her support to the Warm Front scheme, which works to get vulnerable people out of fuel poverty by providing central heating and insulation.

Helen has welcomed a government announcement that farmers will soon start receiving payments under the new Single Payment Scheme (SPS).
