£10 MILLION BOOST FOR LOCAL ECONOMY

A £10.2 million government award to boost the economy of County Durham has been welcomed by Helen.
Local Government Minister, Phil Woolas, has revealed that the local authorities of Sedgefield, Wear Valley, Easington and Derwentside have been successful in their bid for funds from the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI).

Search on for climate change ‘champion’

A new competition to find the North East’s climate change ‘champion’ has been backed by Helen.
The new competition is for young people aged 10-18 who can help spread the word about climate change. The initiative is designed to raise public awareness and change attitudes to climate change.
